  • slice 063: the antrum postoticum and the cavum tympani are continuous (in black), showing the greatly elongated ear region in Chelus fimbriatus. The upper part of the cavum labyrinthicum is visible.
  • slice 076: the left stapes can be seen in this section on each pterygoid. The circular space in the middle of the skull in this and the next section is the dorsum sellae.
  • slice 078: the right stapes can be seen from its footplate in the cavum labyrinthicum extending laterally into the elongate cavum tympani.
