About the Species

This specimen was made available to the University of Texas High-Resolution X-ray CT Facility for scanning by Dr. Timothy Rowe of The University of Texas at Austin. Funding for scanning was provided by Dr. Rowe.

The violin's strings were removed prior to scanning so as to minimize artifacts.

About this Specimen

This specimen was scanned by Matthew Colbert and Jessie Maisano on 24 August 2009 along its long axis for a total of 2740 slices. Each 1024 x 1024 pixel slice is 0.25 mm thick, with an interslice spacing 0.22 mm (resulting in a slice overlap of 0.03 mm) and a field of reconstruction of 212 mm.
